Strongbow - Chained

Das vierte Album von STRONGBOW ist das mit Abstand Beste.
Klar, wird man das immer über ein neu erscheinendes Album sagen, aber "Chained" ist schnell, gediegen, relaxt und aufgeregt zugleich, ist flüssig, hat aber Kanten.
Um es auf den Punkt zu bringen - "Chained" erinnert ungemein an die Lässigkeit der großen Vorbilder, an SOCIAL DISTORTION, an die BOUNCING SOULS oder an die GENERATORS.
Und wie die genannten Bands taucht STRONGBOW eben nicht in die Belanglosigkeit ab sondern entwickeln einen eigenen Charme.
Klischees werden nur am Rande abgefrühstückt, STRONGBOW bohren tiefer, lassen tiefer blicken.
Auch auf "Chained" streut man in kleinen Prisen gelungene GImmicks wie Akkordeon-Momente und arschcoole weibliche Zweitstimmen mit ein, jedoch nie übertrieben sondern wohldosiert.

Das Layout stammt von Pete MacPhee, der auch schon für die DROPKICK MURPHYS oder SOCIAL DISTORTION Plattencover entworfen hat.

The fourth album by STRONGBOW is their best so far. Ok, that's a phrase, but "Chained" is fast and relaxed, it's catchy and tough at the same time.
To summarize: the album has a lot of the smooth feeling of the bands that influenced them a lot such as SOCIAL D., THE GENERATORS or BOUNCING SOULS.
But don't get me wrong, this is not the next copy of a copy.
The band is keeping their own style, they do Street-Punk but they surprise the listener with their talent of putting in refreshing elements, such as female background-singers or mixing in uncommon instruments.
